The Arch Deck is a trapezoidal arched composite flooring system consisting of girders placed with a spacing of approx. 4 to 6 m and Legato-trapezoidal arched elements resting on their bottom flanges in the fields between them. They serve as bearing shuttering for the ceiling concrete, without further intermediate supports and thus without obstructing further works. The final result is a concrete arched ceiling, similar to formerly used little span low rise brick vaults. Thereby a continuous reinforced concrete slab of tapered cross-section, beside the steel girders, simultaneously serves as top flange of the composite beams. As the dead load of concrete is compensated by the trapezoidal arched sheet, the concrete slab need only be calculated for supposed finishing elements and the actual live load.
